A young man learns what’s most important in life from the guy next door.

It had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College, girls,
career, and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear across
the country in pursuit of his dreams.

There, in the rush of his busy life, Jack had little time to think about
the past and often no time to spend with his wife and son. He was working
on his future, and nothing could stop him.

Over the phone, his mother told him, “Mr. Belser died last night. The
funeral is Wednesday.” Memories flashed through his mind like an old
newsreel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days.

“Jack, did you hear me?”

“Oh, sorry, Mom.. Yes, I heard you. It’s been so long since I thought of
him. I’m sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago,” Jack said.

“Well, he didn’t forget you. Every time I saw him he’d ask how you were
doing. He’d reminisce about the many days you spent over ‘his side of the
fence’ as he put it,” Mom told him.

“I loved that old house he lived in,” Jack said.

“You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make
sure you had a man’s influence in your life,” she said

“He’s the one who taught me carpentry,” he said. “I wouldn’t be in this
business if it weren’t for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things
he thought were important….Mom, I’ll be there for the funeral,” Jack
said.

As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his
hometown. Mr. Belser’s funeral was small and uneventful. He had no
children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away.

The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see
the old house next door one more time.

Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like crossing
over into another dimension, a leap through space and time The house was
exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every picture, every
piece of furniture….Jack stopped suddenly.

“What’s wrong, Jack?” his Mom asked.

“The box is gone,” he said

“What box?” Mom asked.

“There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk. I must
have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he’d ever tell me was
“the thing I value most,’” Jack said.

It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered
it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had
taken it.

“Now I’ll never know what was so valuable to him,” Jack said. “I better
get some sleep. I have an early flight home, Mom.”

It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died Returning home from work
one day Jack discovered a note in his mailbox. “Signature required on a
package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office within the
next three days,” the note read.

Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and
looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting was
difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention. “Mr.
Harold Belser” it read. Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open
the package. There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack’s hands
shook as he read the note inside.

“Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to Jack Bennett.
It’s the thing I valued most in my life.” A small key was taped to the
letter. His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes, Jack carefully
unlocked the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold pocket watch.

Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he unlatched the
cover. Inside he found these words engraved:

“Jack, Thanks for your time! -Harold Belser.”

“The thing he valued most was…my time”

Jack held the watch for a few minutes, then called his office and cleared
his appointments for the next two days. “Why?” Janet, his assistant asked.

“I need some time to spend with my son,” he said.

“Oh, by the way, Janet, thanks for your time!”

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments
that take our breath away,”

Think about this. You may not realize it, but it’s 100% true.

1. At least 2 people in this world love you so much they would die for you.

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don’t like you.

4. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

5. You mean the world to someone.

6. If not for you, someone may not be living.

7. You are special and unique.

8. When you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you
probably won’t get it, but if you trust God to do what’s best, and wait on
His time, sooner or later, you will get it or something better.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good can still come
from it.

10. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look: you
most likely turned your back on the world.

11. Someone that you don’t even know exists loves you.

12. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude
remarks.

13. Always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much
better when they know and you’ll both be happy.

14. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they
are great.

certainly brighten someone’s day and might change their perspective on

When it comes to getting traffic you have a
few choices…

You can buy traffic…

You can get traffic free…

Or you can scrounge for traffic…

Here’s what I mean…

You can buy traffic:

A few of the paid options are banner ads, Pay-Per-Click
ads, buying links and you can pay for classified ads on
other sites.

The problem here is… it cost money and some of
the techniques take awhile to learn.

You can also scrounge for traffic:

You can do ad-swaps with other marketers. You can ask
your friends and JV partners to promote your product to
their list.

This is a great method for traffic but if you’re not established
with a track record or you are new to the net it can be hard
to stand out from the crowd and get noticed.

And then you have the option of getting free traffic:

Here are a few methods for free traffic… You can write
articles, you can create press releases, you can do
social marketing or you could do blog commenting.

Again…

All these are great for traffic but they take time, a lot
of effort and dedication.

Boy, oh boy, do I really like the Kodak Zi8 camera…

- the best thing is the external audio input that I can use
with the AudioTechnica ATR 3350 lavalier mike to get better
recordings

HOWEVER….

The Kodak Zi8 video file output is MOV files (a proprietary Apple format),
and the MOV files don’t work well in Sony Vegas.

After a full week of knocking myself out trying to do workarounds, doing
research on the web to see what others came up with (none really fixed
the issue, they just almost did so I had to continually tweak things at
every stage of the process), here’s what I finally found that really works:

1 – Make sure you have the latest firmware update for your Kodak Zi8:

Click here to download and install the Kodak Zi8 firmware

2 – Make sure you get the update for the QuickTime DLL file for Sony Vegas:

Find this file on your computer “qt7plug.dll” and rename it “qt7plug.old”
Then download the updated file and save it to the same folder that you
found your original “qt7plug.dll” – click here

3 – Download and install the 7.6.2 version of QuickTime for PC (the newer
versions have some kind of conflict in them: http://www.brothersoft.com/quicktime-43141.html

4 – Convert the Kodak Zi8 MOV files to AVI or WMV (or a format that works well for you in Vegas)

5 – Load into Vegas, edit and render in AVI or WMV

6 – Transcode that output to FLV (if that’s what you want when putting on web)

Now, you may say… “Well, that looks simple enough, so what’s the matter
with you Mark.”

The problem is: all the free video convertors I tried (4 of the top ones recommended)
did not do a good job of transcoding from the Kodak Zi8 MOV files, therefore things just did not
work well inside of Vegas (synch of video to audio, choppy video, etc), and the
resulting rendered files and finally conversions to web format (FLV) didn’t do well
either.

So here’s what I found that fixed it all for me, and maybe this few bucks you spend
today will save you a lot of time and frustration that I had to pay, before finding
this and gladly paying them the bucks for a great software solution.

In this software, I set the video conversion settings to “the very best” to get the
best quality in going from MOV to AVI, then also after I render to WMV from Vegas
and then from WMV to FLV in the convertor (you, of course, may wish to use other
file formats – this software does it all, very well).

“I was so overwhelmed at the amount of genuine kick butt information and workshops where we applied our new found knowledge”…

First I would like to say that Mark Hendricks “Rocks”. This is the first Conference on Internet Marketing that I have attended and lucked out, after learning of other conferences, not saying all of the others are just sales pitches mind you.

Personally I have seven digital products that I have produced, affiliate hub, personal blog and driving traffic to them. Even though I feel comfortable as an online marketer, I was so overwhelmed at the amount of genuine kick butt information and workshops where we applied our new found knowledge to prove to ourselves that it works, it blew my mind!

It is my second day back home and I am already putting it to work on a new blog with affiliate products, automated newsletter with affiliate links, social bookmarking, 15 minute Press Releases and becoming a Jedi Knight with regards to twitter.

I feel like a really lucked out.

The Internet Super Stars Conference was my very first internet marketing conference and it was no “pitchfest”…it was all content, only a mention or two about each speakers’ product at the very end of their talk. And I know from others attending that the total focus on educating us versus promoting your own product was quite rare.

Not only did we get the chance to try out the ideas and teachings in short workshops at the end of each talk, but I came home with enough new information to last me a year. And the bonus was how welcomed we all felt, how willing each teacher was to answer our individual questions no matter our level of expertise and no matter when…it could have been dinner, breaks, it was just continuous new information.
